Russia's Strategic Air Force Strikes Ukraine Again
After a lengthy hiatus of over two months, Russia has once more set its sights on Ukraine, launching airstrikes utilizing its strategic air force. Kiev's military commander, Serhiy Popko, announced this information through a Telegram post, stating that the enemy had reinitiated air assaults with Tu-95MS strategic aircraft-launched cruise missiles. The aerial assaults originated from several bombers hovering near Engels, located within Russia's Saratov region.
Popko elaborated that not a single enemy target was struck within the city, but several properties in the surrounding territory suffered damages due to debris and blast waves caused by explosions. According to Ukraine’s air force, out of the 19 cruise missiles deployed, 14 were successfully intercepted, while others failed mid-flight.
Apart from the capital, other regions were likewise targeted. For instance, the eastern Ukrainian region of Dnipropetrovsk, near Pavlohrad, reportedly endured impacts, with at least one fatality and eight injuries. Damage occurred at an industrial plant as well.
In the vicinity of the capital, several households were also damaged due to the airstrikes. According to earlier reports, at least four individuals sustained injuries; however, officials have yet to confirm the exact number. In addition, multiple drones were intercepted in the area prior to this incident.
Kharkiv, an eastern Ukrainian metropolis, also experienced a ground-based S-300 missile attack during the night. This assault resulted in two hospitalizations, along with damage to several civilian structures and vehicles.
Ukraine has been enduring the Russian war of aggression for over 21 months now, with unwavering Western support. Near Kupjansk, a person perished, and four others sustained injuries due to Russian bombardment upon discovery of a frontline position.
