This project, carried out by a Sochi-based company, is expected to be completed within a year and a half, bringing us one step closer to a more integrated land connection between the two nations. As of now, only a railway bridge and air links exist between them.

The road bridge is concrete and steel, with a total length of 4.7 kilometers, including approach roads. The actual bridge stretches one kilometer over the Tumen River, with 424-meter and 581-meter sections on the Russian and North Korean sides, respectively. Two-lane-wide (7 meters), it's designed to accommodate increased cargo and passenger traffic.

Upon completion, a car checkpoint will be set up nearby to ensure safe and orderly passage.

  1. The completion of this bridge in 2025 will potentially have far-reaching implications for both the health and economy of the two nations, as it will improve the general-news flow and facilitate increased cargo and passenger traffic.
