Russia Boosts Robotics Sector with Major Budget Increase and 2030 Vision

Russia is boosting its robotics sector with a significant budget increase and strategic plans. President Vladimir Putin has emphasized the importance of robotics in industry and economy, aiming to make Russia a top 25 player by 2030.

The state program supports around 20 measures for machine tool and robotics. Last year, over 8,000 industrial robots were commissioned, marking a 60% increase from the previous year. To facilitate integration, the Ministry of Industry and Trade is developing a unified software standard for industrial robots.

The first six out of 30 regional robotics development centers are underway, along with technological audits to assess enterprises' robotization potential. Putin noted the low current level of robotization, with the budget proposed to reach almost 23 billion rubles by 2028.
