Russia aims to seize Kupiansk, allegedly bolstering nearby forces and conducting operations in small units, according to Ukrainian troops' claims
The 10th Army Corps of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has issued statements on Telegram, providing updates on the current situation in Kupiansk and its surrounding areas.
On September 13, Ukraine's General Staff declared that Ukrainian forces have gained control of Kupiansk and its vicinity. However, recent reports suggest a dynamic and fluid situation, with Russian forces amassing assets and personnel near the villages of Radkivka and Holubivka.
Ukrainian forces are actively conducting counter-sabotage measures in forests, dacha areas, and on the outskirts of the city. The Ukrainian military unit is currently active around Kupiansk, and there are indications of possible attacks by Russian forces.
Ukrainian assault groups are engaged in the area, working to maintain control and counter any Russian advance. On September 17, DeepState reported that Russian troops had advanced in the Kupiansk district of Kharkiv Oblast.
The fighting is taking place in the area that the Russians call 'controlled,' but Ukrainian forces are holding their ground. A key pipeline near Kupiansk, which Russian troops may have attempted to use to infiltrate the city, is now under the control of Ukrainian forces.
DeepState also reported that Russian troops have advanced near the settlement of Novoivanivka in Zaporizhzhia Oblast. The 10th Army Corps of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine believes that the struggle continues in Kupiansk, and they have expressed faith in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Prisoners of war testify to the lack of clear combat order among the Russians, and there are reports of Russian forces operating in small assault groups, often in civilian clothing. This tactic, while potentially effective in avoiding detection, is considered a war crime under international law.
The 10th Army Corps of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has concluded that it is premature to claim complete control over Kupiansk due to the ongoing dynamic nature of the fighting. Russian forces are aiming to capture the city of Kupiansk, and the situation remains tense.
