Rumoured Shang-Chi Sequel Scrapped, Fantastic Four Confirmed for 2025
Rumours have been circulating that a new Shang-Chi sequel may have been scrapped, although Marvel has yet to confirm this. The cancelled movie was reportedly a 'Marvel Event' movie, hinting at another crossover and sparking fan speculation that it could be the next Doctor Strange sequel.
An important movie has been removed from Phase 6 of the MCU, leaving fans wondering about the future of the franchise. While Marvel has not officially announced the name of the cancelled project, sources suggest it was a smaller-scale movie with a large list of characters. Contrary to some rumours, it has been confirmed that 'The Marvels' is still part of Phase 6, set for release in 2024.
Meanwhile, another Phase 6 project, 'The Fantastic Four: First Steps', has been confirmed for 2025. This movie will be set in an alternate MCU universe and not serve as a direct sequel to Doctor Strange or Shang-Chi. Upcoming MCU Phase 6 projects also include Spider-Man: Brand New Day (2026), Avengers: Doomsday (2026), and Avengers: Secret Wars (2027).
While the fate of the rumoured Shang-Chi sequel remains uncertain, Marvel fans can look forward to several exciting projects in Phase 6, including 'The Fantastic Four: First Steps' and the epic conclusion to the Avengers series with Avengers: Secret Wars.
