Bukky Saraki's Potential Return to the APC: Just a Juicy Rumor?
Rumors Surface of Saraki's Alleged Switch to APC, Stirring Mixed Responses
Bloody hell, the APC chair in Kwara State, Sunday Fagbemi, reckons Bukola Saraki might be gunning for a return to the ruling party. Fagbemi chatted it up with The Guardian and said if the chit-chat turns out to be the real deal, it would be a top-notch development. But, like any house guest, Saraki needs to follow the rules, ya dig?
Our site reports that back in 2014, Bukola left President Goodluck Jonathan and the PDP for the APC. However, in 2018, he teamed up with PDP's former presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, to hop back to PDP. Not too long ago, old man Saraki mouth-off regarding the defection of former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa to the APC.
The Kwara PDP Chairman, Tunde Mohammed, told The Guardian that as far as he knows, Saraki's still a PDP bigwig. "When Saraki decides his moves, we'll be ready. For now, there's nothing brewing at the moment," he said.
Former PDP Chairman in the state, Kola Shittu, thinks Saraki is a heavyweight in politics and won't play second fiddle to anyone. He doubts Saraki would leave the PDP. Saraki's aide was a tad more cryptic, stating that their man has yet to discuss any plan of defection with them.
"A politician has no permanent friend or enemy. It's all about what's best for the folks in Kwara State. He adores them so much that he ain't got time for nonsense. He haven't spilled the beans about this alleged planned defection yet, so we shouldn't buzz about phantom BS," he explains.
