Rukmini Vasanth teams up with Rishab Shetty in Kantara: Chapter 1

Set in the pre-colonial coastal Karnataka during the rule of the Kadamba dynasty (around 345 to 540 CE), the movie narrates a man's exploration of the intertwined experiences of nature and divinity. The storyline connects to the ancestral conflicts hinted at in the original Kantara film and promises to provide a more detailed and immersive mythological experience unique to Indian cinema.
Actor Rukmini Vasanth, known for her roles in Baanadariyalli, Bagheera, and Ace, will essay the role of Kanakavathi in the film. Her character is seen draped in royal attire, indicating a majestic presence within the story's setting.
Rishab Shetty, who won his first best actor National Award at the 70th National Film Awards for Kantara, will once again front the film, also serving as its writer and director.
