New Appointment Drives Record Lows - RTL’s revamped *You Don’t Know What’s Coming* flops with just 1 million viewers at premiere

RTL’s revamped entertainment show You Don’t Know What’s Coming debuted with a fresh lineup of hosts and a high-energy format. The live episode, broadcast on 13 December 2025 from Cologne, introduced Michelle Hunziker, Giovanni and Jana Ina Zarrella, Thorsten Schorn, and the Ehrlich Brothers as illusionists, alongside support from Katja Burkard. However, the premiere struggled to attract viewers, marking a significant drop from previous editions.

The new-look show promised spontaneity and chaotic fun, featuring games like beer barrel races, egg-and-spoon relays, guessing challenges, and even hobby horsing. A surprise phone call from comedian Mike Krüger added an unexpected twist to the broadcast. Despite the lively setup, the episode drew just 1.06 million viewers—a sharp decline compared to the last instalment, hosted by Thomas Gottschalk, Günther Jauch, and Barbara Schöneberger, which pulled in 2.43 million.

The premiere’s low ratings signal a challenging start for the revamped You Don’t Know What’s Coming. With no immediate confirmation of further episodes, RTL faces decisions about the show’s direction. The format’s ability to recover audience interest will depend on future adjustments or a return to its previous hosting lineup.
