In the realm of music, Pipe Major Christopher Armstrong has been named a Medallist of the Order of the British Empire for his services to music. Caroline Lusher, the founder of the Rock Choir, has been named MBE for her services to music and charity.

Notable contributions in the field of classical music in Northern Ireland have been recognised with the awarding of the Medallist of the Order of the British Empire to Paula Klein. Meanwhile, in Scotland, Michael Harris, the organist and Master of the Music at St Giles' Cathedral in Edinburgh, has been made MBE for his services to music and the music industry.

Japanese-born British novelist Kazuo Ishiguro has been made a member of the Order of the Companions of Honour for his services to literature. This prestigious honour is limited to 65 members and recognises those who have made a significant impact in the arts, science, or government.

Beyond the UK, several notable honorees in Australia include Colonel Ian Francis Ahearn, awarded the Distinguished Service Medal for his distinguished leadership in warlike operations dating back to 1968. Antarctic researchers Dr. Christopher Johnson Carson and Dr. Jan Marie Wallace have been honoured with the Australian Antarctic Medal for their contributions to Antarctic programs.

Acts of bravery have also been recognised, with the Group Bravery Citation being awarded to Mitchell John Bennetts, Bennett Lea Gardiner, Gonzalo Alejandro Herrera, Jamie Ingram, and Jase Shore for their courage in apprehending an armed man in Sydney in 2019.

In addition to these honours, Myleene Klass, a musician and TV presenter, was made Member of the Order of the British Empire for her services to women's health, miscarriage awareness, and charity. Dr. Linley Hamilton, a prominent trumpeter in Ireland for the last two decades, has also been made MBE for her services to music and the music industry.

Previous recipients of knighthoods in His Majesty's 2024 list include actor Stephen Fry, former England manager Gareth Southgate, and London mayor Sadiq Khan.

The official and detailed comprehensive list of all 2025 Honours recipients is published in The Gazette (issue 64607), which is the authoritative source for the full honours list. Specific lists for the Australian honours components are separately maintained.

Congratulations have been extended to all those honoured today, including Myleene Klass, who has used her profile to campaign for women in the UK to receive better support after baby loss. She became an ambassador for Tommy's, the largest UK pregnancy and baby loss charity, in 2023. Myleene Klass hosts Calm Classics on Friday and Saturday nights on our website, and she is also an ambassador for Save the Children for over a decade.

Alan Titchmarsh, a TV broadcaster and horticulturalist, was made Commander of the Order of the British Empire for his services to horticulture and charity. Titchmarsh, who is the host of Saturday afternoons on our website, said telling his wife and daughters about the honour was a "teary moment".
