Royal Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn voiced worries over the Thai-Cambodian border forces and distributed amulets to every solider.
On July 4, 2025, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn graced the Royal Thai Army’s "Good Farmer Soldiers" Project at Bura Chat Camp in Muang District, Ratchaburi Province. The visit aimed to promote sustainable agricultural development among military personnel and local communities.
Accompanied by senior military officials, including General Phana Khlaeoplotthuk, Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Army, and commanders from the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Army Regions, Princess Sirindhorn was welcomed with a special ceremony. The Royal Thai Army Band performed songs, including "Duangjai" and "Suksan Dang Erawan", in honour of her ongoing dedication to royal duties and the well-being of the Thai people. The performance symbolised the soldiers’ heartfelt loyalty and solidarity towards Princess Sirindhorn.
Following the ceremony, Princess Sirindhorn presented a collection of sacred Buddha amulets to Lieutenant General Boonsin Padklang, commander of the 2nd Army Region, with instructions to distribute the amulets to all soldiers stationed along the Thai-Cambodian border. She expressed her concern for their safety and well-being, particularly in light of recent tensions and armed clashes between Thai and Cambodian troops.
The visit and distribution of amulets took place against the backdrop of heightened border tensions, including a recent armed clash between Thai and Cambodian forces on May 28, 2025, in the Chong Bok area of Ubon Ratchathani Province. The royal gesture was seen as a morale booster for the troops, reflecting Princess Sirindhorn’s ongoing commitment to the happiness and security of the nation.
The "Good Farmer Soldiers" Project, which promotes sustainable agricultural development, was established to empower military personnel and local communities. By engaging in farming activities, soldiers not only learn valuable skills but also contribute to the local economy and food security. The project aligns with Princess Sirindhorn's tireless efforts to serve for the happiness of the nation.
Princess Sirindhorn's concern for the soldiers along the Thai-Cambodian border also extended to political and general news, as she expressed anxiety about the ongoing tensions and armed clashes between the two countries' troops. Meanwhile, as the "Good Farmer Soldiers" Project promotes sustainable agricultural development among military personnel and local communities, it also involves travel and exploration of innovative farming techniques, a testament to her dedication to national growth and development.
