Royal figuries Queen Camilla and Melania Trump tour the miniature marvel that is Queen Mary's Dolls' House in unison.
In a unique and captivating event, Queen Camilla and Melania Trump recently visited Windsor Castle to admire one of the world's most famous dolls' houses.
Located on the north terrace of the castle, Queen Mary's Dolls' House is currently on display and available for visitors with a ticket. This intricate masterpiece, designed by leading architect Edwin Lutyens in the 1920s for Queen Mary, wife of King George V, is a testament to the craftsmanship of over 1,500 artists and craftspeople.
The dolls' house, which is described as the largest in the world, is a remarkable replica of a real-life home, complete with electricity and running water. It houses a miniature library, one of which was created by author Neil Gaiman as part of his literary charity work in 2024.
During their tour, Queen Camilla and Melania Trump were treated to a glimpse of some of the books in the library. One of the miniature books features a recipe for roast chicken and roast potatoes by Tom Parker Bowles. Queen Elizabeth II's copy of Alice in Wonderland is also among the books in the Royal Library.
Following her engagement with Queen Camilla, Melania Trump headed for an event with Kate Middleton in Frogmore Gardens. Prior to this, President Trump had visited Chequers to discuss policy with Keir Starmer.
Queen Elizabeth II and the First Lady also took a short walk to carry out their own engagements. Afterwards, Queen Camilla and Melania Trump returned to Queen Mary's Dolls' House to view more treasures from the Royal Collection.
In a lovely gesture, Queen Camilla initiated a project in 2024 to create miniature books for the dolls' house's library in collaboration with her literacy charity. This project adds an extra layer of significance to the already impressive dolls' house.
Visitors to Windsor Castle have the opportunity to step into a miniature world and marvel at the intricate details of Queen Mary's Dolls' House. It's a must-see attraction for anyone interested in history, art, or simply the delight of stepping into a smaller, more whimsical home.
