Royal Figures Embark on Unconventional Journey with a Tipsy Comrade: Alonso Initiates Unscripted Expeditions with a Drunken Companion

Hey there, mates! Let's talk football, shall we? The lads from Real Madrid, with Xabi Alonso steering the ship, took on Al-Hilal in the opening match of the 2025 Club World Cup. The hot Miami weather didn't seem to do the Royals any favors, as they left fans craving for more.

Catching the eye early on was the fresh duo of Deans Huijsen and Trent Alexander-Arnold, just signed by Real, who almost handed their first goal to the opposing side in the 10th minute. Thankfully, Marcus Leonardo's shot narrowly missed the mark, leaving the score sheets untouched.

62,415 spectators, mostly clad in Real white, cheered on the Royals at the Hard Rock Stadium. Midway through the first half, Gonzalo Garcia put the Royals ahead in a swift counterattack. The satisfaction was short-lived, however, as Al-Hilal, with veteran Bayern player Joao Cancelo on their roster, equalized through Portuguese Ruben Neves' penalty before the end of the half.

In the blistering 33-degree heat, there was also a debut on the bench for Al-Hilal. Simone Inzaghi, previously of Inter Milan, helmed the Saudi side for the first time after their disappointing 0:5 defeat against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final.

As for Alonso, he's in charge to lead Real back to titles as Carlo Ancelotti's successor. But his boys weren't playing up to their usual standard during the first half, with some sloppy play and quick ball losses at the feet of the players. Fortunately, Alonso made tactical adjustments, and Real Madrid improved significantly after the break. Arda Guler even came close to snatching a win for the Royals as he smacked the crossbar after entering the field as a substitute.

While the team's overall performance was lacking, there were some positives to be drawn from the match, as the young players displayed promise, with Guler making a particularly noticeable impact. Alonso also expressed satisfaction with the debut of his new-look defense, Huijsen and Alexander-Arnold, praising their personalities and future potential in the squad.

As the tournament progresses, we'll be keeping a close eye on Alonso's continued efforts to mould his new team. Real Madrid fans will undoubtedly be hoping for a more polished performance next time out, as they aim to reclaim their throne in the world of football.
