Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Extend Netflix Partnership with New Multi-Year Deal

Prince Harry and Meghan, Duke and Duchess of Sussex, have announced a multi-year extension of their creative partnership with Netflix through their production company, Archewell Productions. This new deal, a first-look deal, gives Netflix the right of first refusal on any of their film or television projects, but unlike their previous exclusive deal, Archewell can now shop projects to other companies if Netflix passes on them [1][2].

The upcoming confirmed projects under this deal include:

  • Season 2 of "With Love, Meghan", which is scheduled to release later in August 2025.
  • A holiday special connected to "With Love, Meghan." This special episode is described as a "magical holiday celebration." [1]
  • A film adaptation of the bestselling novel "Meet Me at the Lake" by Carley Fortune. Archewell acquired the rights in 2023, though details such as director, cast, and release date have not yet been announced [1][2].

This new first-look format mirrors a similar arrangement Netflix has with other production companies, shifting from exclusive output deals to more flexible partnerships [1]. Archewell Productions continues to focus on storytelling that reflects their values of shared humanity and truth [2].

The news comes after weeks of reports suggesting that their deal would not be renewed. However, it appears that these reports were premature, as talks were underway.

Archewell Productions, founded by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, has been actively collaborating with Netflix since 2020, producing content across various genres, including documentaries and scripted series [1][2]. Some of their previous works include "Polo," "With Love, Meghan," "Heart of Invictus," "Harry & Meghan," and "Live to Lead."

Netflix is also a passive partner with Meghan's product range As Ever [1]. It is expected that the Duke and Duchess will expand their work with Netflix to include the As Ever brand in the future.

One of the additional projects with Netflix is the documentary-short film "Masaka Kids, A Rhythm Within," set in Uganda's Masaka region [1]. The Duke and Duchess expressed feeling inspired by their partners and the Archewell Productions team for creating thoughtful content that resonates globally [2].
