Rowing at Holy Cross: A Look Back at the Fall and Ahead to the Spring Preview

The Holy Cross Men's and Women's Rowing teams are gearing up for an exciting spring season, aiming to win significant awards and build on their successes from last fall.

Both teams have already shown promising potential, with a string of victories at Lake Quinsigamond-hosted regattas, including the Wormtown Chase and Head of the Snake. The Men's team will travel to Philadelphia, PA for the Schuylkill Invitational on April 12, while the Women's team started their season before the men did, competing at the Jesuit Invitational last weekend.

The Men's team also found program success at the Princeton Chase regatta last November, and the Women's team qualified two entries in back-to-back years and achieved the best program finish in the Club 4+ at the Head of the Charles regatta last fall. These achievements highlight the teams' determination and hard work.

After returning from a training trip to Tampa, FL over Spring Break, both teams have been honing their skills at the Donahue Rowing Center. As spring progresses, the teams are expected to perform well up and down the East Coast.

The Men's rowing team will kick off their season with a duel against MIT this upcoming weekend on Lake Quinsigamond. The Women's team, on the other hand, has already gained momentum, having started their season before the men.

While a detailed schedule for the spring 2K sprint season and upcoming regattas for both teams is not yet available, interested parties are encouraged to check official sources frequently. The Holy Cross Athletics website and the rowing teams' official Instagram pages (@hcrossmrowing for men’s rowing and @hcrosswrowing for women’s rowing) are great places to stay updated on events, competitions, and team news.

Coach Delgreco was recently spotted at the Royal Canadian Henley Regatta in early August 2025, indicating that Holy Cross rowing may participate in such events. However, the specific schedule for these events is yet to be announced.

As the teams prepare for the upcoming season, their dedication and spirit are evident. With their sights set on winning significant awards, the Holy Cross Men's and Women's Rowing teams are ready to make a splash this spring.
