A wild kangaroo dessynchronized the monotony of an Alabama highway in an unconventional episode recorded on video.

The jumpy marsupial scampered along Interstate 85 in Macon County, connecting Montgomery and Auburn, on a Tuesday, causing quite the spectacle before its capture by state troopers and its owner.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency acknowledged the incident, stating that the kangaroo named Sheila had been part of a two-vehicle crash previously. The statement further detailed how both the southbound and northbound lanes of Interstate 85 near the 46-mile marker were temporarily shuttered while authorities and the animal's owner collaborated on its recovery. Fortunately, Sheila was unscathed from the accident.

Video footage showed the kangaroo sauntering down the highway like a furry, hopping specter. To subdue Sheila, troopers utilized a dart to tranquilize her.

Patrick Starr, its owner, informed reporters that Sheila, their personal pet, had escaped from her enclosure. After capture, Starr ensured his beloved marsupial was safely back home, with Sheila admittedly munching on some post-ordeal grub. A vet checkup from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine had confirmed her retrieval.
