Roughly 700 athletes participated in the sixth installment of the half marathon held in Kamchatka
In Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Kamchatka Krai, the sixth annual Zabeg.RF half marathon took place on May 26, 2025. This event, part of the Zabeg.RF series that promotes health and sport across Russia, attracted a diverse group of runners ranging in age from 6 to 64 years.
The race offered four distances: 1 km, 5 km, 10 km, and 21.1 km. For the younger participants, there was a 1 km race, while those aged 16 and above could participate in the 5 km, 10 km, or the half marathon.
The unique scenic routes of the race made it both challenging and beautiful. Running through volcanic landscapes and coastal views, participants were treated to a breathtaking backdrop that added to the adventure feel of the event. Despite the cool and variable local climate, many runners found it refreshing.
After the race, participants could enjoy the welcoming community, organised support stations, and the opportunity to explore a remote, nature-rich region. For many, running in such a distinctive location added motivation and made the experience truly memorable.
While I don't have direct access to the specific race results from the 2025 Zabeg.RF half marathon, it's common for results to include finishing times, rankings by gender and age categories, and sometimes photos or split times. Winners' finishing times for half marathons generally range from around 1 hour to 1 hour 30 minutes for elite runners, while average participants may finish between 1.5 to 3 hours.
Some notable finishers included Vadim Adullin, Yevgeny Shelepov, Yaroslav Shkoryn, who completed the 5 km race, and Dmitriy Yarovenko, Vladimir Timofeev, and Mark Moskalyuk, who finished the 21.1 km race. In the 10 km race, Elizaveta Shevchuk, Ekaterina Ulatova, Natalia Panina, Nikolai Burlachenko, Aleksey Pikalov, and Alexander Fesenko were among the competitors.
The event was dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War and the Year of the Defender of the Fatherland. All finishers received commemorative medals, and the leaders received prizes from partners.
For those interested in finding official results and participant stories once they are published online or through Zabeg.RF's official channels, I'd be happy to help guide you. Let me know how you'd like to proceed!
