New Contract for Rostock Basketball Coach - Rostock Seawolves lock in coach Frasunkiewicz with 2028 contract extension
Rostock Seawolves have extended head coach Przemysław Frasunkiewicz's contract until 2028. The Polish coach took charge in 2024 and has since led the team to new heights in both domestic and European competitions. His success on the court has earned him the club's long-term commitment.
Frasunkiewicz arrived at the Seawolves in 2024, marking the start of a rapid turnaround. In his first season, the team secured 10th place in the Basketball Bundesliga (BBL), qualifying for the playoffs for the first time in club history. That same year, they also became serious contenders in the FIBA Europe Cup, narrowly missing out on a quarter-final spot.
By January 2026, the Seawolves sat in 7th place in the BBL, with eight wins from 15 games. A three-game winning streak further boosted their confidence under his guidance. The coach has repeatedly expressed his gratitude for the trust shown by the club's management.
The decision to extend his contract follows these strong performances. With Frasunkiewicz at the helm, the team remains in contention for a quarter-final berth in the FIBA Europe Cup while pushing for a higher finish in the BBL.
The contract extension keeps Frasunkiewicz with Rostock until at least 2028. His leadership has already brought playoff basketball and European competition to the club. The Seawolves now aim to build on this progress in the coming seasons.
