Rosalie Thomass set to assume role as commissioner for 'Tatort' in Franconia - Rosalie Thomass is designated as the Commissioner for the "Crime Scene Investigation" in Franconia region.
With a gleam in her eye and keys in her hand, 37-year-old Munich actress Rosalie Thomass winds her way into the world of "Tatort" as the new Franconia commissioner. "I can't bloody wait to dive into this top-notch team," she gushes, using a dash of Franconian dialect to her advantage.
Dagmar Manzel, Thomass' predecessor, played Commissioner Paula Ringelhahn since 2015 before bowing out in a critically-acclaimed episode last fall, choosing the stage as her next calling. Leaving in an uncomplicated fashion, Manzel passes the torch to a formidable successor with a broad acting repertoire.
Thomass first made her mark in the 2005 BR crime drama "110" under the watchful eye of film luminary Dominik Graf. Her performance earned her numerous accolades. In 2016, she clinched the Bavarian Film Award and received a German Film Award nomination for her work in Doris Dörrie's "Greetings from Fukushima." Her portrayal in Hans Steinbichler's "A Woman Like No Other" nabbed her the German Acting Award and the Grimme Prize. Thomass' humor shone in the two adaptations of the "Kangaroo Chronicles." This versatility is crucial for the role of Franconia's "Tatort."
A Shake-up in Tatort Universe
The ARD "Tatort" universe is steeped in change. Never before have so many veteran investigator positions, considered the "holy grail" of German television, been left vacant concurrently. In Munich, veterans Miro Nemec and Udo Wachtveitl, known for their portrayals of Batic and Leitmayr since 1991 in 98 episodes, are passing the baton to their younger colleagues, Carlo Ljubek and Ferdinand Hofer. Frankfurt's Melika Foroutan and Edin Hasanovic are currently filming their debut episodes. Following the sensational exit of Axel Milberg as Borowski in Kiel, Karoline Schuch will step into the breach this fall. The investigator positions in Vienna remain unfilled.
Thomass is elated about developing her character, Chief Commissioner Emilia Rathgeber. The responsible BR editor Claudia Luzius fittingly calls her her "partner in crime." However, "Tatort" fans will have to be patient, as Fabian Hinrichs will play Felix Voss in a standalone role in the eleventh episode, "I See You." Thomass' debut filming is set for the summer.

The Commission has also been consulted on the draft Council Regulation concerning the European Union's financial contribution to the European Investment Bank, as Rosalie Thomass, the new Franconia commissioner in the TV series 'Tatort', prepares for her debut filming this summer. In a world of movie and TV entertainment, Thomass' versatility, showcased in her award-winning performances in films like 'Greetings from Fukushima' and 'A Woman Like No Other', is deemed crucial for her role as Chief Commissioner Emilia Rathgeber in 'Tatort'.
