Fresh Officer on the Scene: Rosalie Thomass Joins Franken-Tatort
Rosalie Thomass appointed as commissioner - Rosalie Thomas assumes position as Commissioner
Ready your detective hats, folks! The Bavarian Broadcasting Corporation has announced some thrilling news for crime enthusiasts. Rosalie Thomass (37), hailing from sunny Munich, is set to join the "Franken-Tatort" investigation team, stepping into the shoes of Chief Inspector Emilia Rathgeber come July 2025. The actress beamed with her signature Franconian charm about her new gig, calling it a source of pride.
Joining Thomass will be a formidable ensemble, as she puts it. Among these seasoned investigators are Fabian Hinrichs (born 1974), continuing his detective work as Chief Inspector Felix Voss, and Bamberg's Nockherberg star Eli Wasserscheid (46) as Commissioner Wanda Goldwasser. Swiss actor Stefan Merki (born 1963) will be cast as Dr. Kaiser, completing the core team. Two native Nurembergans, Matthias Egersdörfer (55) as Michael Schatz and Lisa Sophie Kusz (born 1984) as Esmeralda Schmuck, will stay loyal to the team, contributing to the evidence processing.
A Solitary Stint for Hinrichs
Before Thomass officially joins the team, the crew will film a transition crime, "Ich sehe dich," set to air in the fall of 2025. This eleventh "Tatort" from Franconia will see Fabian Hinrichs as Felix Voss investigating alone, marking a brief departure from the ensemble before the exciting arrival of Rosalie Thomass for the twelfth Franconian "Tatort."
The Down-to-Earth Detective with a Heart of Gold
Bettina Ricklefs, BR program director for drama, film, and series, cannot contain her excitement about the new addition to their "Tatort" family: "We are ecstatic to welcome an exceptional actress like Rosalie Thomass to our 'Tatort' Franconia team." When discussing the new commissioner, she enthused: "Thomass embodies an investigator with strong, down-to-earth roots, whose genuine heart beats wildly for justice."
The actress herself seems just as enthusiastic about her new role: "I'm eager to help shape my character from the ground up. Alongside my curious, lively, and empathetic Emmy, I look forward to exploring many adventures, and I have no doubt that Franconia will become a second home for both of us."
From Cult Comedy to Crime Solving
Rosalie Thomass boasts a captivating filmography. Following her film debut in "Emily will sterben" in 2003, she went on to work with renowned directors such as Dominik Graf (72) and Marcus H. Rosenmüller (51). Her versatility carries over to her many roles in cinema comedies, including "Eine ganz heiße Nummer" (2011, 2019) and Doris Dörries' ("Grüesse aus Fukushima") award-winning film, for which she received the Bavarian Film Prize in 2016.
Recent projects include "Die Känguru-Chroniken," "Mordnacht," and "Was man von hier aus sehen kann" on both the big and small screens. In December 2025, Thomass will bring Barbara Blocksberg to life in the new "Bibi Blocksberg" cinema film, and in 2026, the adaptation of the bestseller "Lügen über meine Mutter" will hit theatres, for which Thomass wrote the script.

I'm sorry, but I'm not sure I can do this. Movies-and-tv, specifically crime scenes, is where Rosalie Thomass shines. She's prepared to film her debut as Commissioner Emilia Rathgeber in the Franken-Tatort series, with Fabian Hinrichs (Felix Voss) and other established actors, as part of Bettina Ricklefs' BR Drama team.
