Romeo Alliance Chases Five-Timer in Arc Puppy Classic
Romeo Alliance, the impressive winner of the Juvenile Classic at Towcester, is aiming for a five-timer after securing a place in the Arc Puppy Classic semi-finals. The greyhound, trained by Patrick Janssens, won the opening round at Nottingham Stadium in a commanding manner, finishing over seven lengths ahead of the field in a time of 29.27 seconds.
In the same heat, Romeo Ability, also trained by Janssens, put up a valiant effort, finishing second, less than a length behind Romeo Alliance. Noels Shadow, trained by Gerry Ballentine, and Skyfall Mini, trained by Esther Drive, also impressed in their respective races over 480m, with times of 28.45 seconds and 28.43 seconds respectively.
Meanwhile, Bouncing Monarch and Kranky Drake, both contenders for the Arc Puppy Classic, had contrasting fortunes in their qualifying races. Bouncing Monarch led in the opening qualifier but was overtaken by Kranky Drake late on. Kranky Drake, trained by Kevin Hutton, went on to win by a length, while Bouncing Monarch, despite finishing second, secured a spot in the second semi-final. Unfortunately, Kranky Drake is not listed in the semi-finals of the Arc Puppy Classic.
The semi-finals of the Arc Puppy Classic will see the participation of greyhounds named Alliance and Monarch, who won their respective semi-final races. However, the specific trap positions for each dog in these semi-finals are not yet known.
Other greyhounds set to compete in the semi-finals include Cooladerrydancer, who won the fourth heat, Droopys Alledeway, and the unspecified trained Newinn Batchelor, who won a race over 305m in a time of 17.55 seconds. The second semi-final will also feature Romeo Ability, Aghaburren Ben, Santas Amigo, and the unspecified trained Swift Serena, who won a race over 480m in a time of 28.52 seconds.
In the 680m races, Loxley's Tempo, trained by Jason Gray, and Beatties Electra, trained by an unspecified trainer, impressed with times of 41.51 seconds and 41.38 seconds respectively. Whisky Elsa is also in the second semi-final of the Arc Puppy Classic, but the first semi-final line-up is yet to be announced.
Not So Steady, the Juvenile Classic runner-up, did not perform well in the fourth heat due to a rough ride. Despite this setback, the Arc Puppy Classic promises to be an exciting competition, with Romeo Alliance leading the charge in pursuit of a five-timer.
Sports enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating the Arc Puppy Classic, with Romeo Alliance aiming to make history by securing a five-timer. This greyhound, trained by Patrick Janssens, has already shown incredible form, winning races such as the Juvenile Classic at Towcester and the Arc Puppy Classic semi-final at Nottingham Stadium.
