Rome Film Fest Honours Edgar Reitz, Richard Linklater, Nia DaCosta
The Rome Film Festival is set to honour three prominent filmmakers this year. Edgar Reitz, known for his acclaimed 'Heimat' series, will receive the master of film award. Richard Linklater, director of the 'Before' trilogy and 'Boyhood', will be presented with a lifetime achievement award. His 'Before' trilogy, consisting of 'Before Sunrise', 'Before Sunset', and 'Before Midnight', and the coming-of-age film 'Boyhood' are among his notable works. He will present 'Nouvelle Vague', which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, at the Rome Film Festival.
DaCosta, an up-and-coming director, will receive the progressive lifetime achievement award. Her films 'Little Woods' and 'Candyman' have been critically acclaimed. She will attend the festival with her interpretation of Henrik Ibsen's 'Hedda Gabler'.
