Romanshorn's beloved dog park reopens early after perfect conditions

The dog park on Egnacherweg in Romanshorn is reopening sooner than expected. Thanks to dry weather and well-maintained grass, the popular off-leash area will welcome dogs and their owners immediately. The park was originally set to reopen on 1 April 2026.

The 2,800-square-metre park first opened in May 2025 and quickly became a favourite spot for local dog owners. Its facilities include a water station, a bench, and a sunshade for comfort during visits.

The grass has already been mowed once and remains in good condition, allowing for an early return. City officials also noted that if storks choose to nest on the grounds, a protective barrier will be placed around the nest. While the exact number of regular visitors is unknown, the park is known to be heavily used by the community.

The early reopening gives dog owners more time to enjoy the space before the originally planned date. The city has ensured the area is ready, with safety measures in place for wildlife. Visitors can now return to the park without delay.
