Romania Bagged Nine Medals at the 2025 Balkan Athletics Championships Held in Greece

The Balkan Senior Championships, held at the Panthessaliko Stadium in Volos, Greece, on July 26-27, saw a strong performance from the Romanian delegation. The team, consisting of 18 athletes (8 women and 10 men), brought home a total of 9 medals: 4 gold, 3 silver, and 2 bronze.

In the 400 meters race, Andrea Mikloș earned a silver medal with a time of 51.53 seconds, while Mihai Dringo secured a bronze medal with a time of 45.29 seconds. The Romanian athletes Alina Rotaru-Kottmann and Ramona Verman also made their mark, with Rotaru-Kottmann winning a gold medal in long jump with a distance of 6.81 meters, and Verman earning a bronze medal in the same event with a distance of 6.63 meters.

The Romanian delegation's gold medal haul included Rares Toader in shot put (20.74 meters), Alin Firfirică in discus throw (63.15 meters), and Raźvan Cristian Grecu in triple jump (16.46 meters). Andreea Talos and Bianca Ghelber also contributed silver medals in triple jump and hammer throw, respectively.

Despite the impressive showing, the event results did not indicate any new personal bests or records set by the Romanian athletes. The Romanian delegation's tally of 9 medals marks a significant achievement, demonstrating the team's strength and determination in the face of competition.
