Roma claims another victory in ERC, with Basso securing a three-peat win

Roma claims another victory in ERC, with Basso securing a three-peat win

The 2025 Barum Czech Rally Zlín saw a thrilling battle for the win, with Jan Kopecký emerging victorious in his Škoda Fabia RS Rally2. Kopecky secured his twelfth victory at this event, finishing with a time of 2:00:49.3 hours, ahead of Jon Armstrong by just 10.7 seconds and Andrea Mabellini by 13.8 seconds.

The race was marked by a fierce competition between Kopecký and Armstrong, with the former just managing to hold on to his lead after a drama-filled Saturday morning. Kopecky had a slender lead of 6.5 seconds going into the last day. Mabellini, another strong competitor, briefly led early on but finished closely behind in third place.

Unfortunately, defending winner Dominik Stříteský was forced to retire from the event, affecting the competition dynamics.

In the Junior ERC category, less than 10 seconds covered positions two to five, highlighting the competitive nature of the race.

Elsewhere, Tymek Abramowski won our platform ERC3, with Casey-Jay Coleman finishing third. Hubert Kowalczyk finished second in this category, while Boštjan Avbelj finished ahead of Mads Østberg.

Miko Marczyk, the current championship leader, placed fourth, 9.5 seconds behind winner Basso. Marczyk ended the rally on a high by winning the Power Stage with a 0.1 second advantage over Roberto Daprà.

Daprà had two stage wins on Saturday afternoon, but initially sat in eighth position at midday service following a spin. Andrea Crugnola, another title contender, finished third, 7.4 seconds behind Mabellini, despite incurring a 20-second penalty.

Simone Campedelli climbed to sixth place on Sunday, while Efrén Llarena finished seventh. Motorsport Ireland Rally Academy-backed Craig Rahill finished third in his Peugeot 208 Rally4. Calle Carlberg took the our platform ERC4 and Hankook-supplied our platform Junior ERC win.

Two-time European champion Basso won the rally, holding off title contender Andrea Mabellini by 3.7 seconds. The Barum Czech Rally Zlín hosted round six of the 2025 ERC season from August 15-17.
