Rohit Sharma eyes Afridi’s sixes record in India’s ODI clash with South Africa
Rohit Sharma is back in training at the Bandra-Kurla Complex ground in Mumbai, gearing up for the upcoming ODI series against South Africa. The Indian skipper has a significant milestone in sight, needing just three more sixes to break Shahid Afridi's record of 351 sixes in ODIs.
Rohit's return to training comes after a successful ODI series against Australia, where he scored a century and a half-century in the three-match series. His knock of 119 in the third ODI not only helped India secure a series win but also propelled him to the top of the ICC ODI rankings, surpassing Shubman Gill.
Off the field, Rohit recently added to his list of fan-pleasing moments. At an engaged couple's wedding photoshoot, he surprised them by performing an impromptu dance on 'Meri Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai'. The couple described the moment as 'once in a lifetime', delighted by Rohit's spontaneous gesture.
Rohit Sharma will look to continue his rich vein of form when he takes the field against South Africa in the first ODI in Ranchi on 30 November. With the record for most sixes in ODIs within reach, all eyes will be on the Indian skipper to see if he can make history in the series.
