Rogers Satellite Brings Wireless Coverage to Canada's Remote Regions

Rogers has launched a new satellite service, Rogers Satellite, to extend wireless coverage across Canada. This marketplace for connectivity connects mobile phones in remote areas where traditional networks fail to reach. It is the first and only service of its kind in the country.

The new satellite network fills gaps left by standard wireless coverage, which currently reaches just 28% of Atlantic Canada. Residents and travellers in coastal zones outside St. John's, Fundy National Park, and highways near Minas Basin can now access reliable connectivity through satellite images.

Rogers Satellite supports essential apps like WhatsApp, Google Maps, and text-to-911. This improves safety for those in isolated regions where emergency calls were previously impossible.

The service costs $15 per month for all Canadians. However, it is already included in every Rogers 5G+ plan across Atlantic Canada. Customers in other parts of Canada can use it at no extra charge for up to 24 months.

Rogers Satellite expands mobile coverage to remote and underserved areas. The service ensures better communication and safety for users beyond traditional network limits. It is now available nationwide at a low cost or as part of existing plans.
