Rod's long-time partner, Penny Lancaster, humorously acknowledges their age difference, stating, "I'm the oldest person Rod has ever been intimate with... Now I'm also the oldest woman he's been intimate with."
In a heartfelt interview, music legend Rod Stewart has shared his happiness with his wife Penny Lancaster, stating that he is happier than ever with her. The couple, who have been married for 18 years, are parents to two sons, Alastair (19) and Aiden (14).
Their journey together began just six months after Stewart's split from his ex-wife Rachel Hunter. An interesting twist in their story is that Stewart's bass player withheld Lancaster's number from him for six months, causing a delay in their meeting.
Lancaster, who is 54 years old, revealed her desire to start a family with Stewart early on. Stewart, too, has expressed regret about not starting a family with her sooner.
Stewart and Hunter met at the Roxbury Club in Los Angeles. Hunter was the oldest woman Stewart was involved with before marrying Lancaster. Stewart has previously shared in his autobiography that he found Hunter extremely beautiful and no-nonsense.
In the same interview, Stewart opened up about the pain of his split from Hunter, stating that it 'tore him to shreds'. He also shared that he has a child, Sarah, who he put up for adoption at the age of 18.
In addition to Alastair and Aiden, Stewart has other children from previous relationships: Kimberly (47), Sean (45), Ruby (38), Renee (33), and Liam (30).
Lancaster is currently the cover star of the October issue of Woman and Home magazine. She is posing for the cover in a denim jumpsuit from the Los Angeles based brand, Current/Elliot.
Stewart's ex-wife Rachel left him, and he believes it was because she was too young. Lancaster, on the other hand, is a testament to Stewart's happiness today. The couple continues to inspire with their strong bond and beautiful family.
