Rodríguez, or Brian, intends to reside in America and is planning to depart only following the World Cup in 2026.

Rodríguez, Brazil's football star, plans to reside in America permanently, but intends to depart following the 2026 World Cup tournament.

In a significant move for Club América and Uruguayan football, Brian Rodríguez has agreed to renew his contract with the Mexican club for an additional three years. The new deal, which includes a 30 percent salary increase, was finalised in mid-August 2025.

The decision comes after a period of uncertainty surrounding Rodríguez's future, with multiple transfer offers from clubs such as Al-Rayyan, Santos, and Inter Miami being rejected by América. Despite having only one year left on his contract, no renewal proposal was presented, causing speculation about his departure.

However, a new offer from Al-Rayyan in early August prompted América to reconsider a sale. Rodríguez, who is keen on playing in a higher-level league, ultimately decided to stay with the Mexican club, recognising the importance of this year for his career.

Rodríguez's comments about his future were made on La Ultima Palabra, where he expressed his desire to secure his place in the Uruguay national team for the 2026 World Cup. His focus remains on his performance with Club América to maintain his chances of being selected for La Celeste.

The arrival of Allan Saint-Maximin puts Rodriguez's starting lineup position at risk, but he is hesitant to leave America due to the crucial year approaching for him. Reports suggest offers for Rodríguez have come from Qatar, but he is not entirely convinced to move, recognising the potential risks to his World Cup aspirations.

As Rodríguez continues his journey with Club América, Tigres are one goal away from matching the biggest win in Liga MX history, while Pumas maintain the honor of having the biggest win in Liga MX history. Rodríguez's commitment to the club will undoubtedly have a positive impact on both his career and the team's performance in the upcoming season.

Rodríguez, despite having interest from clubs playing American football like Inter Miami, chose to stay with Club América, aiming to secure his spot in the Uruguay national team for the 2026 World Cup. Instead of joining a Qatari club, he decided to focus on his performance with Club América to maintain his chances of being selected for La Celeste, given the importance of the upcoming season for his career.
