Rock Music Celebrates Half-Century Anniversary at Green-White Lankern's Farmers Rock Festival
The small town of Hamminkeln, Germany, is set to host a historic event on August 9, 2025, as the 50th anniversary rock festival takes place at the Grün-Weiß Lankern club premises. This celebration, known as the Farmers Rock Festival, marks the 50th anniversary of Grün-Weiß Lankern and 50 years of rock history.
The festival will feature four high-caliber tribute bands, paying homage to iconic rock bands such as Genesis, Queen, the Rolling Stones, and U2. One of the highlighted acts is L.A.vation, a renowned U2 tribute band, who will be joined by Patrick Boudreaux as Bono. Another UK tribute band, "Not the Rolling Stones," will also perform at the event.
Sascha Krebs, the lead singer of "The Queen Kings," is expected to bring his impressive musical theater background and over 1200 performances in "We Will Rock You" to the stage. The tribute bands will each have 90 minutes to perform, with approximately 30 minutes of setup time between acts, ensuring a full evening of live rock music.
Doors will open at 4:30 PM, and the event will begin at 5:30 PM sharp. For the safety and comfort of visitors, the organisers have created a cozy, authentic festival atmosphere with drink and food stands, seating areas, and space for visitors to relax.
To accommodate the expected high attendance, the road leading to the Grün-Weiß Lankern club premises will be one-way only, inaccessible from the Dingden direction. Cycling will also be restricted during the festival for safety reasons.
The Farmers Rock Festival is a significant historic milestone in the local rock scene, bringing together fans and tribute bands to honour the legacy of these legendary groups through live performances. This event follows the Woodstock Festival 2019, making it the second festival organised by Grün-Weiß Lankern in collaboration with Bocholt's city marketing.
