Ozzy Osbourne, the legendary frontman of Black Sabbath and the Prince of Darkness, passed away at the age of 76 following a heart attack on July 22. His retirement concert, "Back To The Beginning," took place at Villa Park football stadium on July 15, marking the first performance from Sabbath's founding lineup since September 2005.

The news of Osbourne's death sent shockwaves through the music industry, with tributes pouring in from fellow rock icons. Gene Simmons, vocalist and bassist of Kiss, took to social media to express his condolences, calling Osbourne a "unique human being" and a "giant."

Simmons was not only a colleague but also a friend to Osbourne, having known him for "decades." Kiss, who were an opening band for Sabbath in the mid-70s, shared the stage with Osbourne before Kiss's final show in New York City in December 2023. The exact band they performed with is not specified, but the joint appearance was a fitting tribute to their shared history in the world of rock.

Osbourne was renowned for his larger-than-life persona on stage, giving "scream therapy" to his fans and showing affection by blowing kisses and saying "I love you." However, Simmons noted the contrast between this image and the caring person Osbourne was behind the scenes. Osbourne was always approachable and genuine, treating everyone the same, including fans and acquaintances.

As for Kiss, they are expected to kick off their avatar shows in Las Vegas in 2027. The band hopes to continue with virtual concerts featuring digital avatars, following in the footsteps of the successful Abba Voyage experience in London.

Paul Stanley, a bandmate of Simmons in Kiss, also paid tribute to Osbourne online, expressing his respect and admiration for the iconic rock star. The music world will forever remember Ozzy Osbourne's contributions to rock and roll, and his legacy will continue to inspire generations to come.
