Rock Band Guns N' Roses Breaks Record with Most Concert Wastes
Guns N' Roses Deliver Historic Performance at Wacken Open Air
In the heart of North Germany, the heavy metal festival Wacken Open Air made history as Guns N' Roses took the stage for an epic three-hour set, setting a new record for the longest show in the festival's 31-year history.
The American rockers, led by iconic frontman Axl Rose, paid tribute to heavy metal legend Ozzy Osbourne during their performance, playing two songs from Black Sabbath, the band Ozzy once fronted. The songs, "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath" and "Never Say Die!", were a poignant reminder of the impact Osbourne has had on the genre.
Just days before the performance, on July 22, Osbourne passed away at the age of 76, leaving a void in the heavy metal world. Axl Rose paid tribute to the late singer, saying "We're all here because of you" during the show.
Guns N' Roses were the headliners at the Wacken Open Air festival, joining a lineup that included other heavy metal acts such as Gojira from France and American rockers Papa Roach. The festival, which has been taking place since 1990, is considered one of the largest heavy metal festivals worldwide.
Meanwhile, in Hamm, construction work on Goethestraße is almost completed, while noise barrier work on the A2 is scheduled to begin in August. In a separate development, Hammer Sportclub is on its way to the German championship title.
