Rocha Challenges RFEF Disqualification Again as Judge Orders Reconsideration
Former Real Federación Española de Fútbol (RFEF) president Pedro Rocha is challenging his disqualification once more. The administrative litigation judge has ordered the Tribunal de Arbitraje del Deporte (TAD) to reconsider Rocha's case, following a ruling that annulled his previous disqualification.
Rocha's initial appeal against his two-year ban and €33,000 fine was dismissed in September 2024. The judge has now ruled that the original decision by the Administrative Sports Tribunal created a 'defense deficiency' for Rocha. This means he was not given a fair chance to defend himself against the allegations.
The judge has ordered the TAD to resolve Rocha's case again, ensuring it complies with the law. Additionally, the TAD has been ordered to pay the costs incurred by Rocha's legal action. This is a significant development in Rocha's long-standing dispute with the RFEF.
The National Court's annulment of Rocha's disqualification has opened the door for him to challenge his punishment once more. The TAD must now re-evaluate Rocha's case, ensuring it adheres to the law and provides him with a fair defense. The outcome of this new legal process will determine Rocha's future in Spanish football.
