Minnesota Lynx Shatter WNBA Road Win Record in Dominant Performance Against Las Vegas Aces

The Minnesota Lynx continued their impressive season with a historic victory over the Las Vegas Aces, setting a new WNBA record for the largest margin of victory in a road game. The final score of the game was 115-62, surpassing the previous record of a 53-point win.

The Lynx stormed out of the gates, leading by 18 points at the end of the first quarter with a score of 35-17. This lead only grew throughout the game, with the Lynx pushing it to 34 points by halftime (67-33) and 43 points by the end of the third quarter (92-49).

The Aces struggled to find their rhythm, finishing the game with a dismal 34.3% shooting from the field and 30.8% from three-point range. In contrast, the Lynx shot impressively, posting a field goal percentage of 59.2%, a three-point percentage of 63%, and a free-throw percentage of 71.4%.

Kayla McBride, the Lynx's guard, was the standout player of the game, tying a WNBA record by making eight three-pointers in a single half. All eight of her made shots were from beyond the arc, with only one shot attempt coming from two-point range. McBride finished the game with a game-high 24 points.

Four other Lynx players also scored in double figures: Napheesa Collier (18 points), Jessica Shepard (18 points), Natisha Hiedeman (17 points), and Sylvia Fowles (13 points). However, Collier, the Lynx's best player and MVP candidate, sustained an injury late in the third quarter of the game.

The Lynx's victory improves their record to 24-5, maintaining their hold on the league's best record and the No. 1 overall seed. The Aces, on the other hand, fell to 14-14 with the loss.

This historic win marks the Lynx's fourth WNBA championship, tying them with the Seattle Storm for the most titles among active franchises. The Lynx are also on a mission to win their fifth championship this season.

Last season, the Lynx reached the WNBA Finals for the first time since 2017, but they were ultimately eliminated in a deciding Game 5. This year, they aim to go one step further and bring the championship trophy back to Minnesota.
