Road obstruction on Sochi's highway caused by fallen tree
On Friday, September 19, a storm warning was issued for the Sochi resort, according to a report from ChP Sochi (t.me/chp_sochi). The storm is expected to last for 24 hours, bringing strong rains, gusty winds, and large waves.
Earlier in the morning, an incident occurred on the Adler - Sochi highway near the "Krasnyy Shurm" stop. A large tree fell onto the roadway, hanging over the extreme right lane and partially blocking traffic towards the city center. Fortunately, the incident resulted in no casualties, and city services quickly removed the obstruction and restored traffic.
The local road maintenance authority or municipal services were responsible for removing the fallen tree. The tree was halted by a retaining wall, preventing further damage. No further information about the impact on the Adler - Sochi highway is provided in this report.
Waves up to 3 meters are expected as a result of the storm. It is advised to exercise caution when travelling along the coast, especially during the storm's peak hours.
