RMK Extreme Wins 'Breakthrough of the Year' for 2025/2026 Winter Season

The RMK Extreme venue in Yekaterinburg has been recognised as a standout project for the 2025/2026 winter season. Over 2.5 months, the site hosted three major snowboarding and skiing tournaments, drawing in thousands of visitors and participants from across Russia. The venue operated as part of the wider 'RMK Energy: Winter' festival, offering more than just competitions. Alongside the Russian Snowboarding Cup's two-day final, guests enjoyed master classes, lectures, film screenings, and live music. In total, 4,138 people visited RMK Extreme during the season.

A dedicated children's zone introduced 3,565 youngsters to snowboarding for the first time. Meanwhile, the snowboarding and skiing school ran 198 sessions, training 2,730 participants. The festival also attracted over 250 competitors from 23 Russian cities. Igor Ignatyev, director of the annual New Star Camp—a sports and music festival marking the end of the ski season—congratulated RMK Extreme on winning the 'Breakthrough of the Year' award. No details, however, have been released about specific training programmes or collaborations with the Sverdlovsk Region Olympic Reserve Snowboarding School during this period.

The festival's success highlights its role in promoting winter sports and engaging new participants. With thousands attending events and trying snowboarding for the first time, RMK Extreme has cemented its place as a key venue in Yekaterinburg's winter calendar. The award further recognises its impact on the 2025/2026 season.
