Get ready, Omsk! On May 9th, 2025, a column of 15 yachts will sail down the Irtysh River, flying flags and banners of the Immortal Regiment.
The Ministry of Sports in Omsk region broke the news on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, revealing that the yacht procession will kick off at 9:00, setting sail from "Green Island," with other ships joining at 10:00 near Omsk Fortress. The grand parade will commence at 11:00, bringing the water and land columns together along the Irtysh Embankment and culminating in a ceremonial wreath-laying at the "Glory to the Heroes" monument on Victory Boulevard.
The lead vessel in the fleet will be the legendary "Siberia," which has embarked on numerous expeditions and even ventured to the North and South Poles. The crew members of the yachts and young soldiers aboard, each carrying portraits of their frontline relatives, will join the Immortal Regiment procession.
This won't be the first time Omsk residents have the privilege to witness this beautiful and solemn event; in fact, the Immortal Regiment procession has been taking place for the 6th consecutive year.
Two columns will march side by side – one on the water and the other on land. Be there to honor and remember the brave soldiers who fought for our freedom.
