Piotr Lisek, a 32-year-old Polish athlete with a titles like the 2017 Indoor European Championships and five World Championship medals under his belt, has solidified his spot as a titan in pole vaulting. Emmanouil Karalis, on the other hand, a 25-year-old Greek athlete with a national record of 6.05 meters and the current Indoor European Champion title, snatched an Olympic bronze in Paris.

However, these two champions will have their work cut out for them facing stiff competition from other top athletes. Bo Kanda Lita Baehre from Düsseldorf, who placed in the Indoor European Championship final and was ninth at the Paris Olympics, is sure to make things interesting. Additional notable competitors include the Latvian record holder Valters Krievs and Gillian Ladwig from the Schweriner SC, who have experience at the World Championships.

While Dresden may be best known as the destination for the World Athletics Continental Tour Silver, it's not just about pole vaulting and discus throws. Mykolas Alekna, the Lithuanian world record-holder in discus throwing, will be in attendance, as well as Matthew Denny, Alekna's fierce Australian rival.
