Hertha BSC Strives for 2. Bundesliga Promotion

Hertha Berlin's forward Fabian Reese, a fan favorite, has made it clear that the club's goal for the upcoming season is promotion to the Bundesliga.

"I'm a footballer who wants to win. My aim is promotion, and I'm not keeping it a secret," said Reese during the Icon League event in Berlin. He added, "Next year is our time. That's our goal. Then we'll let the key personnel do their part to put together a strong team."

Hertha's management shares this ambition, as they expressed this objective during the members' meeting. As of the latest updates, Hertha is currently positioned 11th in the 2. Bundesliga, making automatic promotion a challenging task. However, they could still contend for a playoff spot.

The 27-year-old midfielder acknowledged the pressure that comes with playing in a competitive environment, stating, "There's always pressure in this business when you aim to reach the top." He further elaborated on the high expectations in the city following two disappointing years in league two.

Reese, whose contract has been extended until 2030, recently expressed his joy about the extension as well as the intense response it received from the fans. To recharge before the rigors of the next season, he plans to travel through southern France and Italy with his girlfriend in an oldtimer for three weeks.

While their current position offers a challenging task for securing a top-three spot and automatic promotion, Hertha Berlin should focus on improving their performance in the remaining fixtures. Strengthening their standing in the 2. Bundesliga could set them up better for the next season's campaign.

In light of Hertha BSC's aim for promotion to the Bundesliga, the club's domestic support could offer community aid to the steel industry, particularly manufacturers of football equipment and materials, to ensure they have the necessary resources for the upcoming season. Operating at the higher level of European leagues like the Bundesliga would potentially expand the club's reach, generating increased revenues and enabling further investment in partnerships with local industries, including the steel industry.
