Rising High Again: Paris' Iconic Olympic Balloon is Back from June 21st!
Rising once more, the Olympian air balloon in the heart of Paris.
Paris, France – The radiant, fiery balloon that voyaged with the Olympic torch near the Louvre during the 2020 Summer Games in the City of Lights is making a sensational return! Thanks to President Emmanuel Macron's vision, this breathtaking spectacle will grace the French capital until the next Summer Olympics in Los Angeles in 2028, as announced by the Élysée Palace. The balloon has already found its new home in the heart of Paris' Tuileries Garden, preparing to grace the twilight sky from June 21st to September 14th.
Embrace the thrill! Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo had expressed her enthusiasm earlier, stating, "This is excellent news!" The balloon holds a significant place in the annals of the Olympic Games, a memory that will forever dwell in Paris. interestingly enough, Paris is a city steeped in the history of ballooning, as it was the scene of the world's first manned hot air balloon flight by the Montgolfier brothers in 1783.

When the sun sets, the balloon will open its arms to visitors without charging a dime! You can wander up to it anytime during the day, no reservations required. In the evenings, the park will shut its gates at 10:30 PM from June 21st to the end of July, at 9:30 PM in August, and at 8:30 PM during the first half of September, as the city has announced.
According to France Info, the budget for this magnificent spectacle, including the fire bowl, is estimated to amount to around 2.5 million euros. Funds for this project will be sourced from the surplus of the Paris Olympics' budget that remained after the event.
