Rising Irish hip-hop sensation Bambie Thug secures contracts with Spinefarm Records and Universal Music Publishing Group
Bambie Thug, the Irish non-binary singer-songwriter known for their dark, gothic horror-inspired aesthetic and pioneering the music genre they call “ouija-pop,” has made a significant move in their career. The Cork-born, London-based artist, who gained international recognition as the first non-binary artist to represent Ireland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2024, has released a new single called "Redrum."
"Redrum," released on August 15, 2025, marks Bambie Thug's debut release under the newly signed deals with Spinefarm Records and Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG). The track is a three-minute metalcore anthem produced by Shaun Lopez (member of the band Crosses). It channels societal rage, touching on issues like war, political oppression, and prejudice, providing an outlet for listeners to express frustration.
The partnership with Spinefarm and UMPG is seen as a significant step in Bambie Thug’s career. Claire Walters, UMPG’s A&R Creative Manager, praised Bambie as an “exceptional talent with great artistic vision.” This collaboration with these labels coincides with a successful year featuring a headline ‘Crown The Witch’ tour across Europe, festival appearances (including Glastonbury), an arena support tour with Babymetal, and strong chart performances.
Bambie Thug's new single "Redrum" is their first new music since Fangtasy and Hex So Heavy, released last year. The tarot card reading was considered significant in the formation of the partnership between Bambie Thug and Spinefarm. The decision to join Spinefarm was made after this reading, which hinted at a successful and fruitful collaboration.
Spinefarm, the label home to Bullet For My Valentine, Creeper, Dayseeker, and Black Veil Brides, has welcomed Bambie Thug into their family. Jonas Nachsin, the GM of Spinefarm worldwide, expressed his excitement about the collaboration, stating that they are thrilled to work with Bambie Thug.
Bambie Thug made their debut performance at Glastonbury and has also completed an arena support tour with Babymetal and festival appearances across the UK and Europe. Recently, they completed a European tour with Babymetal and Poppy. Bambie Thug has also completed a headline tour, Crown The Witch, with over 31 shows across Europe.
With this launch, Bambie Thug is stepping into a new era, expanding their influence and artistic reach with strong label support and growing international acclaim. The future looks bright for this trailblazing artist.
