Rising hockey star Arsenii Sergeev shines in ECHL and AHL debuts
Goaltender Arsenii Sergeev has been making waves in both the ECHL and AHL this season. His standout performances have earned him a spot in the 2026 Warrior/ECHL All-Star Classic while also setting records in his AHL debut.
Sergeev currently leads all Rapid City Rush goaltenders with a 2.94 goals-against average (GAA) and a .922 save percentage across 12 games. His strong form in the ECHL has now been recognised with a selection for the 2026 All-Star Classic, scheduled for January 19. The event will feature two teams—Stars and Stripes—drafted from the Allen Americans and ECHL All-Stars.
In December, Sergeev made his AHL debut with the Calgary Wranglers, where he immediately made an impact. On December 21, he recorded a franchise-high 52 saves in a victory over the San Diego Gulls. So far in the AHL, he holds a 1-1-2 record, a 3.17 GAA, and a .916 save percentage. Sergeev’s rise follows the earlier move of Maximilian Kastner, who first joined the Rush before progressing to the Wranglers.
Sergeev’s selection as an ECHL All-Star confirms his growing reputation between the pipes. With his AHL debut already delivering a record-breaking performance, he continues to prove his ability at higher levels. The 2026 All-Star Classic will be another chance to showcase his talent on a bigger stage.
