Rishi Bhatt: The Gujarat Tourist Whose Video of the Pahalgam Assault Spread Rapidly Online

The chilling footage of the Pahalgam terror attack from a zipline operator, allegedly shouting "Allahu Akbar" before opening fire on tourists, has made waves on social media. Rishi Bhatt, a tourist from Gujarat, shares his horrific experience of the attack while vacationing in the Baisaran meadow with his family.

According to Bhatt, he was ziplining when the operator spoke something that set off the massacre. Directly after Śrī Bhatt's zipline ride, gunfire erupted, leaving him suspecting the jerkin' Kashmiri zipline operator.

"Three times I heard the dreadful 'Allahu Akbar,' and just as I took flight, the shots commenced," Bhatt recounted to ANI. "That bloke gave off some suspicious vibes; he looked your average Kashmiri, if ya ask me."

The attack was one of the deadliest incidents in the area since the 2019 Pulwama strike, which resulted in the tragic deaths of 40 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel.

Rishi Bhatt's Account of the Catastrophe

Bhatt bravely claimed he witnessed 5-6 individuals losing their lives instantly. Payin' lip service to his safety, he detached his belt, jumped off the line, and rallied with his family. Together, they sought shelter in a hidden spot, camouflaged where it was hard to spot anyone.

"Panic ensued as we heard people get mowed down," Bhatt said. "My wife and son were screamin' their lungs out; I could see tears runnin' down my wifey's face."

The continuous barrage of bullets went on for 8 to 10 nerve-racking minutes before momentarily halting, followed by another round of gunfire. Bhatt estimated that 15-16 tourists were shot before the local population evacuated.

When Bhatt and his family finally reached the gate, they found the public had already fled, but the Indian Army arrived within 20-25 minutes, providing much-needed protection to the survivors.

"The Army swooped in like a rescue squad, coverin' us swiftly within 18-20 minutes," Bhatt commended. "Feelin' safe 'neath the Army's protective cover, I must say, I owe gratitude to the Indian Army."
