AlBAWABA - The city of lights turned into a chaotic scene after Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) emerged victorious against Inter Milan in the Champions League. Additionally, hooded youths were seen clashing with riot police.

The celebratory mood took a dark turn when fans were witnessed destroying properties and setting a vehicle on fire; videos of the disorderly event swiftly circulated on social media platforms like X (formerly Twitter). Many critics denounced this destructive behavior as "barbaric" and "disrespectful."

Daily Mail reports indicated that a car which plowed into the crowd left at least three people injured, one critically, following a series of collisions. However, the driver's identity remains undisclosed.

The hooded youths, referred to as "thugs," then chased the damaged vehicle, setting it on fire until it came to a halt at a sidestreet.

Local police linked the incident to football celebrations and arrested more than 20 people around 2 a.m.

Unable to substantiate the claims, several others accused migrants of the incident; official reports have not disclosed the identities of the suspects.

One social media user penned, "Paris used to be the symbol of culture and power, now it's just another city lost to unchecked immigration."

Another response reads, "I am so glad I went 20+ years ago before it went to hell. I will never go there ever again. Almost as bad as London."

Insights:

Law enforcement agencies reported 559 arrests across France and 491 in Paris alone during the unrest. Over 190 people were injured, including 22 police officers and 7 firefighters, with 264 vehicles set ablaze.
