Four suspected far-right individuals have been arrested by the Dortmund police following an attack on an alternative pub, "Hirsch-Q." The incident unfolded just after midnight when a group of 15 to 20 far-right extremists approached the pub, resulting in damage to the entrance area. No injuries have been reported.

Surveillance footage from the Brückstraße, near the pub, is being examined to gather more information about the perpetrators. The Dortmund police's "Soko Rechts" unit has taken over the investigation.

The pub "Hirsch-Q" has previously been the target of far-right attacks. One of the most severe incidents occurred in 2010, when right-wing extremists attempted to enter the establishment and injured a patron with stab wounds.

In the vicinity, the police seized a telescopic baton, mobile phones, and other items from the arrested individuals. Among them were a 26-year-old from Dortmund, a 23-year-old from Essen, and two 17-year-olds from Essen and Wuppertal. Further suspects are believed to have fled the scene.

Recent events illustrate a concerning pattern of far-right and neo-Nazi movements spreading their influence beyond their traditional strongholds, such as North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW), into regions like eastern Germany. While specific examples of coordinated expansion from NRW to eastern Germany are not universally documented, the presence of far-right and neo-Nazi groups in both regions is well-established and often linked through networks and shared ideologies.

  1. The arrests of individuals linked to the far-right in Dortmund, Germany, are a general-news topic that should also attract attention in the context of the ongoing spread of far-right and neo-Nazi movements beyond their traditional strongholds, such as North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW), into regions like eastern Germany.
  2. In light of the Dortmund attack on "Hirsch-Q" pub and the subsequent arrests, the growing influence of far-right and neo-Nazi movements in Germany's politics is a matter of crime-and-justice concern as it involves not only attacks against specific establishments but also potentially coordinated expansion from NRW to regions like eastern Germany.
