Rider Perishes Following Exciting Roller Coaster Ride at recently opened Universal Theme Park, Epic Universe
Tragedy at Universal Studios Orlando's Epic Universe: Stardust Racers Roller Coaster Closed Indefinitely
A tragic incident has occurred at Universal Studios Orlando's Epic Universe in Orlando, Florida. On Wednesday, a male guest in his 30s sadly passed away after riding the Stardust Racers roller coaster. The guest was promptly taken to an area hospital, but later pronounced dead.
Universal Studios has expressed its deepest sympathies to the guest's loved ones during this difficult time. The Stardust Racers roller coaster, one of the more intense rides in the park, has been closed since the incident and remains shut down during the ongoing investigation.
The Stardust Racers, a breathtaking, dual-launch coaster reaching speeds up to 62 mph, officially opened earlier this year as part of Universal Studios' Epic Universe. The new theme park features lands themed around Super Mario Bros. and other Nintendo properties, the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts films, How To Train Your Dragon, and the classic Universal Monsters. Despite this incident, the rest of the park remains open to guests.
A safety guide from the park warns that guests suffering from various conditions like heart problems, hypertension, back problems, and those who are pregnant should not ride the Stardust Racers.
The Orange County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating the accident in cooperation with local authorities. Universal Studios is cooperating fully with the investigation, providing all necessary information and support. However, no information is available at this time about when the roller coaster will reopen.
Universal Studios encourages anyone with concerns or questions to reach out to their guest services for assistance. The safety and well-being of its guests remain the company's top priority.
