On Wednesday evening, a serious traffic accident occurred on the B426 near Ober-Ramstadt. The incident involved a motorcyclist and an Opel, leading to a road closure that lasted for several hours.

According to initial investigations, the motorcyclist was traveling towards Reinheim on the B426 when, for reasons unknown, they veered off the road to the left and entered the opposite lane. As a result, a collision occurred with the oncoming Opel, driven by a 60-year-old man from Groß-Gerau, who was traveling towards Nieder-Ramstadt on the same road.

Sadly, the motorcyclist was severely injured in the accident. Emergency services responded swiftly, and the motorcyclist was transported to a hospital by rescue helicopter. The Opel driver, on the other hand, sustained only minor injuries.

Both vehicles were totaled in the accident. The road was immediately closed for several hours to allow for accident investigation and clearance. A crash expert was called in to determine the cause of the accident, but the specific cause remains undisclosed at this time.

The police are appealing for witnesses in Ober-Ramstadt to contact the police station at 06154/6330-0. They are urging anyone who may have seen the incident or has relevant information to come forward to help aid the investigation.
