Hoo-boy, here's a wild one from Cleves! Last night, June 16th, around 8:15 PM, a pair of Dutch bike enthusiasts had an accident on the Orange Dyke. A 22-year-old lad from Velp took quite a beating, while his 26-year-old pal managed to escape unscathed.
Apparently, they rode right past a road block with a blaring "No Passage" sign, ignoring it like this ain't the real world. They were gunning it from Grieth towards B 220 when the accident happened.
Now, here's the kicker: this part of the Orange Dyke had lost its asphalt - it was just gravel and all. In that zone, these daredevils lost control, skidded, and tumbled off their bikes.
Emergency services scrambled to the scene and treated the 22-year-old right there. He was then hustled off to a nearby hospital for a proper look-see.
