Rick Weston and Nat Whitty Win Butterfield Half Marathon 2022
Rick Weston and Nat Whitty secured victories in the male and female categories of the Butterfield Half Marathon 2022 respectively. Despite a poor weather forecast, over 500 runners completed the race.
Weston, with a time of 1:11.47, won the male category for the first time at home. He was followed by Dan Galpin and Jack Rees. Weston praised the running conditions despite a headwind in the final miles. As winners, Weston and Whitty earned tickets to compete in the Bermuda Triangle running events in January.
Whitty, who won the female category for the second consecutive year with a time of 1:21.44, was followed by Ulrike Maisch and Vanessa King. She enjoyed the race more this year due to better health. Both Weston and Whitty received cash prizes and other awards for their victories.
