Dortmund's "Tatort" Bids Farewell to Inspector Jan Pawlak

Get prepared to bid adieu to Inspector Jan Pawlak in Dortmund's crime-solving series, "Tatort". Actor Rick Okon, who brought the character to life for 13 seasons, announced his departure. In a statement released by WDR, Okon shared his sentiments, stating, "After 13 Dortmund crime scenes, it's time for me to say goodbye."

The character will not be replaced. Instead, Peter Faber (Jörg Hartmann) and Rosa Herzog (Stefanie Reinsperger) will continue their investigations as a duo, as per WDR.

The final case for Pawlak's character is set to air on February 18, 2024. Titled "Cash," the story revolves around the murder of a young family man and the trio's investigation into his gambling habits in the regional soccer league.

WDR editor Frank Tönsmann, when commenting on Okon's departure, said, "Unlike the loner Jan Pawlak, Rick Okon was always a team player." Okon himself admitted that leaving was a tough call but felt it was time for him to venture into new territories.
