Thousands of Civil Servants Lease Service Bikes - Rhineland-Palatinate's Job Bike Scheme Gains Momentum with 11,434 Registrations
A new job bike leasing scheme has gained popularity among civil servants in Rhineland-Palatinate. Since its launch on January 30, 11,434 employees have registered, with 3,771 bikes already delivered and more on order.
The scheme, which runs for 36 months, allows participants to use the bike privately or share it with household members. It offers a range of two-wheelers, including e-bikes and adaptive bikes for those with disabilities.
The program is voluntary and open to all state employees, with the public sector workforce in Rhineland-Palatinate numbering in the six figures. Since July and September, the scheme has been extended to staff at several universities and colleges, with plans to involve more institutions in the future.
The maximum value of a job bike, including accessories, is €7,000 based on the manufacturer’s suggested retail price.
With thousands of civil servants already participating and more institutions set to join, the job bike leasing program in Rhineland-Palatinate is proving popular. The scheme offers a sustainable and flexible transport option for employees, with a wide range of bikes available to suit different needs.
